Chinese Brown Sauce

1 Tbs butter 2 tsp. Cornstarch 1 tsp. Sugar ½ cup water
1 ½ Tbs soy sauce 1 small can sliced water chestnuts, drained
Melt butter, blend in 2 tsp cornstarch and the sugar. Add water and soy sauce, cook, stirring constantly until thick and clear. Add sliced water chestnut. Heat through and serve over egg foo yong.
