This Is My Deliciously Easy Fudge Recipe
Can you eat fudge any day of the year! I sure can. With the holiday season upon us it just makes it that much more excusable right?! I just finished making my absolute favorite fudge. There’s no baking, no stove top work, just a microwave for a few minutes and you’ll have deliciously smooth fudge!
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 0 (Refrigerate overnight)
3 cups/24 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate or chips 1/4 cup butter
1 – 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract *1 cup walnuts (*optional)
I have made this recipe with both baking chocolate and chocolate chips. The difference I noticed was using the chocolate chips I found I needed to mix longer to get it smooth and blended. Otherwise it tasted the same.
Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside.
In a medium bowl add semi-sweet chocolate, butter and sweetened condensed milk.
Put the bowl in the microwave at 75% power for one minute. Open the microwave and stir the chocolate to mix with the butter and condensed milk.
Continue microwaving at 75% power for one minute, then stirring, then another minute and stirring, etc. until the chocolate is melted.
*I like to use my beaters set at medium when I add a dash of vanilla extract and blend until smooth. Then I stir in the walnuts by hand.
Some people prefer mixing by hand with a wooden spoon. That works too. It’s up to you what you prefer.
Now pour mixture into the buttered baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Refrigerate overnight or at least a couple of hours until firm.
