This is an easy to follow recipe with outstanding results! Every time I bake this lasagna I receive compliments on it!
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Bake time: 30 – 35 minutes
8 oz. Lasagna 1 small onion, diced 2 Tbs Olive Oil 1 lb. ground beef 3/4 lb. Mozzarella Cheese, grated
1 clove garlic, chopped 1/2 lb Ricotta Cheese 2 – 6 oz. cans tomato paste 2 Bay leaves 2 cups water
Grated Parmesan cheese salt & pepper for taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large skillet, on medium heat, add some oil and brown the ground beef. Add onion, garlic, tomato paste, diluted with water, parsley, salt, pepper and bay leaves. Simmer for 30 minutes. While the sauce is simmering cook the lasagna according to package directions (boil in water for about 10 minutes). When the lasagna is done cooking, strain, then hold the strainer under a faucet of cold water and douse the noodles to prevent them from sticking to each other.
Spray a casserole dish with Pam.
Spread 2 ladles of sauce in the casserole dish first. Then, lay down 3 or 4 cooked lasagna noodles. On top of the lasagna noodles spread another 1/3 of the of sauce. On top of that sprinkle 1/3 of the Mozzarella cheese. Then, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
Then, make another layer on top of the one you just did. Place 3 or 4 lasagna noodles, another 1/3 sauce, 1/3 Mozzarella, sprinkle with Parmesan.
The last layer is again, the same thing: 3 – 4 lasagna noodles, the last 1/3 of the sauce, the last 1/3 of the Mozzarella and sprinkle the top with Parmesan.
Bake in oven for 25 – 30 minutes (Until cheese is melted on top).
Serve with French bread or garlic bread and a fresh green salad.
