Oriental Bar-b-qued Pork

Chinese style hot mustard is the finishing touch to bringing out the true taste of this recipe!

Preparation time: Marinate overnight. Prep otherwise is 10 minutes.

Bake time: Bbq for about 30 minutes.


1 lbsPork butt (You’ll only need half of a 2 lb pork butt)          1 clove garlic, minced         

¼” slice of ginger, mashed        2 tsp. Sugar          1 tsp. Salt        2 tsp. Sherry     

3 Tbsp. Soy sauce     2 Tbsp. Honey          ½ tsp. Chinese Five Spice        ½ tsp. Red food coloring


Combine all seasonings. Marinate meat in the mixed seasonings in the refrigerator for several hours, or over night.

Using a bar-b-que with a lid, start coals and place meat away from coals and cover. Cook until desired doneness adding coals as needed.

Slice the meat thin and serve on a warm plate. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with Chinese hot mustard or a sweet and sour sauce.
