Molasses & Brown Sugar Baked Beans

Sweet molasses paired with brown sugar makes for a fantastic baked beans sauce.  This recipe is super easy since it uses a pre-fab can of pork-n-beans for the base.

Preparation time:  15 minutes

Bake time:  2 hrs.

Serves:  6 servings

 

Ingredients:

2 Lrg cans of Van De Kamps Pork-n-beans                       1 cup brown sugar                              1 tsp dry mustard

2 Tbsp dehydrated minced onions                                     1/3 to 1/2 cup molasses                      1/3 cup ketchup

6 slices bacon, raw

 

Preparation:

In a large casserole dish, place one can of beans, drained.

Mix dry mustard with the brown sugar.  Sprinkle 1/2 of sugar mixture over beans.  Add 1 Tblsp of dehydrated onions and 1/2 of the molasses.

Add the other can of beans.  Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 of sugar mixture.  Add the remaining 1 Tblsp dehydrated onion and 1/2 molasses. Stir well.

Top, do not stir, with ketchup and cut up bacon slices.

Bake at 250 degrees for 2 hrs.
