Quick Skillet Pork Butt
When cooking up this meal the vinegar creates a very pungent, tart, air in the kitchen. You’re mouth will water with anticipation!
Preparation time: 15 mins.
Skillet time: 20 min.
1 pork butt roast (aka pork shoulder cut) 1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce 1 small jar of pimentos
Serve with or on rice!
Put the rice on to cook while you prepare and fry the pork butt.
On a breadboard or flat surface, with a sharp knife cut the pork butt roast into bite size chunks (about 1 1/2″ by 1 1/2″).
Transfer the pork butt pieces into a large, non-stick, frying pan. Set the burner to medium and braise the pork butt pieces (braise = fry for a few minutes and then cover with a lid to steam) (20 minutes). It’s important to cover the pan for at least 20 minutes while the pork butt pieces steam to cook the meat thoroughly.
Remove lid and add soy sauce, vinegar and pimentos. Simmer a couple of minutes and it is done!
Serve over rice.
