In a large bowl mix together the Jimmy Dean sausage and hamburger with the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, egg and ¼ cup spaghetti sauce. Mix well.
Using a vegetable steamer, put it into the bottom of a large pot. Fill the pot with water just up to the level of the steamer.
Take a bell pepper and fill to the top with the sausage mixture. Set the filled bell pepper into the pot. Do the same with another bell pepper until all the bell peppers are filled, set in the pot on top of the vegetable steamer. Any excess sausage mix place on top bell peppers. Pour ½ cup spaghetti sauce over the top of the bell peppers.
Cover the pot with a good fitting lid. Turn burner to high until the water begins to boil, then turn the temperature down so it will simmer.
Allow to cook 40 – 45 minutes.
Serve bell peppers over the rice.
